Hi, guys,

Back in 2007/8, when I used Symfony 1.0.x, I had an impression of the
translation of systems I developed that was much better than what I've
got now. Now I'm stuck at very basic points of the 1.4.x version that
lack translation, such as the core "default_messages" (form validation
messages, for example) and plugin messages.

Take sfDoctrineGuardPlugin, for example: yes, it uses translation
functions to be prepared for XLIFF files, but I haven't found a way to
get my translation strings for them to work, nor using the main XLIFF
file, neither using a separate file with the plugin name.

In my opinion, Symfony seems to be loosing points in an aspect that
once has been strong: i18n. Am I having the wrong impression?

Sorry to post this kind of message here, at the dev list, but I
couldn't get help on the users list and someone agreeded to me that I
should warn the dev list about these translation problems here.

Thanks,

Diogo
