Why nobody of the developer group comment something?

At least, if Fabien or other think all this are not good ideas, it
would be good to have that response.

There is nothing to comment on. I really appreciate the feedback you provide and whenever possible, we will take it into account (even if there is nothing new in the current discussion.)

That being said, the Symfony2 form framework has been redesigned in November last year by Bernhard. So, the code already exists and can be tested today (documentation exists and we also have a proof-of-concept for the view rendering which addresses flexibility in templates -- see other threads on the topic).

Conceptually, I think the Symfony2 form framework "fixes" most, if not all, the problems mentioned in this thread. But what we need now is more people actually testing the new code base and providing feedback on it. That would be even more useful.

Cheers,
Fabien

Thanks

Hi - I noticed there's been a fair bit of discussion on the form
framework for Symfony2, and I was wondering if whoever does eventually
take over development was planning on requesting feedback from the
community on what they felt the issues / stumbling blocks / missing
features of the framework were in symfony 1.x?

I think it would be a good idea to at least talk about use-cases where
"average" symfony users (in which I include myself) have been
struggling so that we can look at avoiding them for Symfony2.

From following IRC, I'd say two of the most common problems are:

1. A readonly widget (for displaying non-editable values)

2. Embedded forms with dynamic "add new" and "remove" which don't
require loads of manual boiler plate code to get working.

I'm sure there are others as well.

Cheers, Phil
