I forgot: In the same form there is also a DateField:

<th>{{ form_label(userform.cre_date) }}</th>
<td>{{ form_field(userform.cre_date) }} {{
form_errors(userform.cre_date) }}</td>
</tr>
When I chose an invalid date here I get the proper error message: "The year
is invalid"
