I've been playing with S2 (never used S1) and D2 since early December.  I 
think Fabien is 100% correct with the annotations playing a larger role in 
how symfony2 works.

All I can say is that when I came across the FrameworkExtraBundle and read 
on it (I've still never used it), I was hoping that that becomes standard 
because it only makes sense.


Personally, I use Annotations for my Entities, Validation, and since 
realizing (thanks to this thread) that the FrameworkExtraBundle came with 
standard, will be using that for routing as well.

Routes inside controllers make more sense to me.

+1 for FrameworkExtraBundle.
