You can't directly move from one to the other.

So, it depends how much code you have :)

You could argue that most time is spent working out the logic in
building the database, and deciding how to query it, not in actually
typing out the code to do the queries.

Try it out for yourself, see if it works for you, and if it does, and
you feel it will make your life easier, you made consider spending time
moving your current code over to doctrine from propel. Whilst making the
move might take you time, in the long term you might find you save time.
 This is a decision I believe you have to make on your own.
