I'd like to make some changes to the sfYUI plugin as I think it's out of date and is not taking advantage of some great features. What is the preferred way to begin editing someone else's plugin in the svn? Should I just create a branch? It seems like if a change is going to break backward compatibility there should be some discussion on the direction of the plugin.
