The resources I sent you to answers these questions for you. For your customized updates, basically, you need to override the update method in your action.class.php file that was generated. You can see the parent update method in the cache.
For your custom actions, edit generator.yml to include custom actions. Again, the link to generators should tell you how to accomplish this.
