IMO, this depends very much on the size and structure of your
application. If you are working with lots of tables and relationships, I
recommend you to work with Doctrine, since its relationship handling and
management is much smoother and easier than Propel's. 

Note that I don't know whether this has changed in Propel 1.3 though.
