Thanks for your feedback. Writing a tutorial is no easy task. And sometimes, you need someone to tell you that you are wrong. It is crystal clear now for me too; it makes more sense to have a many-to-many relationship between affiliates and categories.
I will update the day 3 tutorial and add a note before day 4 to help early readers migrate to the new database schema.
