Depends what distro you're using, and how you compiled PHP. AFAIK, you need lib-xml, and that's it. (well, an to have specified that soap shouldn't be disabled at compile time)
php-xml is probably only relevant to Debian (?) based systems, and where you haven't compiled PHP yourself.
