Thanks. The error messages are somewhat cryptic. There was a mention
of an exception being triggered in sfCache. I eventually figured out
that the cache was locked up due to permissions conflict between
Subversion and Symfony. So "php symfony cc" was not working. I chmoded
everything to 777 and that got things working again.
I wish the error messages offered more details.
