Yeah, I know Symfony has phing support, but I never really looked into  
it before. Probably because I never had a need for something like that  
till now.

I'll take a look at it this afternoon.

Reason I wanted a PERL based solution is that it can be used for other  
non-PHP projects too. Sysadmins love PERL, and they know it. They're  
much more likely to adopt a deploy solution that is PERL based than  
PHP or Ruby based.

I'll still keep looking for a PERL based solution, but if I can't find  
one, I may end up putting on my PERL hat and making one :)
