Hi, i prefer Macports for my server software on OS X; here are two tutorials howto install macports & apache2 & etc.
http://forums.macnn.com/79/developer-center/322362/tutorial-installing-apache-2-php-5-a/ http://2tbsp.com/content/install_apache_2_and_php_5_macports via macports it is possible to install pear, and with pear you have symfony too. if you only want to use the sandbox then MAMP is also a good advice for it. when you decide to use macports -> install subversion also :) (just a hint) Am 24.04.2009 um 19:03 schrieb Alex Fernandez: > > > Why not XAMPP? > Installs the latest versions of Apache (2.2.11), MySQL (5.1.33) etc. > From the web page (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-macosx.html): > Apache 2.2.11, MySQL 5.1.33, PHP 5.2.9, Perl 5.10.0, ProFTPD 1.3.2, > phpMyAdmin 3.1.3.1, OpenSSL 0.9.8k, GD 2.0.35, Freetype 2.3.5, libjpeg > 6b, libpng 1.2.32, libungif-4.1.4, zlib 1.2.3, expat 2.0.1, Ming > 0.3.0, > Webalizer 2.01-10, pdf class 009e, mod_perl 2.0.4, SQLite 3.6.3, > phpSQLiteAdmin 0.2, gdbm-1.8.3, libxml-2.7.2, libxslt-1.1.24, > openldap-2.3.43, imap-2004g, gettext-0.16.1, libmcrypt-2.5.8, > mhash-0.9.9, zziplib-0.13.48, bzip2-1.0.5, freetds-0.64 > > PHP has PDO MySQL and PDO PGSQL. > > > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Jacob Coby <[email protected]> > To: [email protected] > Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 12:27:42 PM > Subject: [symfony-users] Re: Symfony Mac INSTALL > > > MAMP is great but beware that it does not allow exec() to work so > sfThumbnail with ImageMagick is a no-go.
