I tried aliases, I also tried creating indexes but nothing worked. I guess all of this boils down to a simple question: What is the YAML syntax to create a foreign key relation on multiple fields? I haven't seen a single example in the Symfony or Doctrine 1.2 documentation (http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation) that explains how.
