Try to set a widget and validator in different way e.g.

$this->validatorSchema['LoginId'] = new sfValidatorString(
      array('required' => true, 'max_length' => 255),
      array('required' => 'Fill it !!')
    );

, maybe you find out that the problem is somewhere else... maybe you
don't trigger the validation, or something else...
