No luck - I configured apc.stat = 0 this morning and still saw the issue occurring 2 hours later.
Then I disabled APC completely - and it still happens! I'm beginning to think it's a problem in apache or PHP because if I open several links from a page into separate tabs in rapid succession, at least one of them will show the white page of death and the same error message in the log. I would hardly consider 4 or 5 simultaneous connections "heavy load" on this powerful server. Any other suggestions?
