AJAX is what you need. Basically its Javascript that calls an action in one
of your modules and then drops the returned html into a div of your
choosing.

This kind if technology has nothing to do with symfony specifically and is a
very long topic to attempt discussing it here, which is why you have no
gotten many responses. You need to do some serious learning/reading perhaps
starting with the the document on the JQuery website, a Javascript framework
