The following code worked for the cases in comment 1. I don't know if it
would work
if there are more than two (theta and phi) trigonometric variables.
def TrigSimp(f):
(w,g) = cse(f)
g = trigsimp(g[0])
for sub in reversed(w):
g = g.subs(sub[0],sub[1])
g = trigsimp(g)
return(g)
