As I said in #2, in my opinion the whole core.facts module should be  
refactored. The
API defined in aima-python is what most textbooks use and I find it a much  
nicer API
than ours. Some equivalences:

Sympy            ----    aima-python
---------------------------
FactRules        ----    KB (KnowledgeBase)
deduce_all_facts ----    ask
defined_facts    ----    clauses
not available    ----    tell
not available    ----    retract
