Yep, Poly._decompose() shouldn't get algebraic functions. The problem is in
putting
expressions into a normal form, especially expressions like (a_1 + ... +
a_n)**e.
Just apply the attached patch and it will start to work:
In [1]: integrate(1/sqrt(16 + 4*x**2), x)
Out[1]:
⎛x⎞
asinh⎜─⎟
⎝2⎠
────────
2
The patch is a quick fix and I don't think it should be pulled in (the code
in
_eval_power should be put in simplify() or something similar).
