maybe put the "import sympy" inside a try block and utput info if it fails  
would be a
good idea.

try:
     import sympy
except ImportError:
     print "Please install SymPy first"
     sys.exit(-1)

i don't think it makes the code much more complicated and it gives a nice  
feedback on
why the examples failed, as this will probably be the first thing new users  
look at.
