Did you intend to only commit Toon's latex patch ("Robust printing of latex

superscripts")

In my opinion, his whole github branch should go in. It also includes fixes
for
PrettyPrint and some of the ccode stuff he has been doing. I think it is
more-or-less
a unified solution to a general issue with printing subscripts and
superscripts.
