Comment #4 on issue 1429 by asmeurer: matches fails to match differential
equation
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1429
It looks like it fails when there is not an f(x) term and there is more
than one term in the b part. Here is a
modified script:
from sympy import *
x = Symbol('x')
f = Function('f')
def Wildgen(start=0):
while True:
yield Wild('a' + str(start), exclude=[f(x)])
start += 1
a = Wildgen()
j = 0
s = 0
b = Wild('b')
for i in a:
if j == 2:
break
s += i*diff(f(x), x, j)
j += 1
s += b
eq = f(x) - x + sin(x)
print s
print eq.match(s)
eq = f(x).diff(x) + f(x) - x + sin(x)
print eq.match(s) # Note how this match works
