If we can keep everything in bin and still have the installer work
correctly, I would vote for that.
If not, I also notice that these scripts are mainly there to aid
development (e.g., adapt_paths.py helps in
installing mpmath), the name of the directory should somehow indicate that.
On a related note, I think that some of those scripts should be executable,
namely coverage_doctest.py and
coverage_report.py. Also, the test_pure scripts seem outdated (they call
python2.4 and use hg). What exactly is
their purpose?
