+1. Those functions were never really iterables anyway. Of course, the *real* solution is to just drop Python 2.4 support and ditch those functions forever, but I am willing to continue with the work-arounds if others are opposed for now.
I think you got cut off on the last one. Where do you want to move @depecated?
