I hadn't thought of those, but we're talking about Mul's eval_subs routine
with old trying to replace a Pow with something. Neither a literal matrix
nor a polynomial would be the base of a power so the changes don't cocern
them.
Of course, if someone is going to make an expression with symbols
representing such quantities then they should mark the symbols with the
appropriate commutitivity to get the desired result.
