I observed this failure only in the Windows platform (Python 2.7.1), but didn't in linux for Python 2.4.4, 2.4.6, 2.5.5, 2.6.5, 2.6.6, 2.7.1.
Possible it is related with the issue 2318. And appropriate pull request [1] may be resolve it (for Windows system (Python 2.7.1) it does). So please check this pull for other versions if their differ.
