Here is a direct comparison:
h[4] >>> e
Ellipse(Point(1, 2), 3, 4)
>>> t = Symbol('t')
>>> Point.distance(e.center,e.arbitrary_point(t.name)).subs(t, 1)
(9*cos(1)**2 + 16*sin(1)**2)**(1/2)
>>> e.distance_to_center(1)
(9*cos(1)**2 + 16*sin(1)**2)**(1/2)
I think it's enough of a nuisance to warrant the method. -1 for removing it.
