Comment #11 on issue 1797 by asmeurer: fix isympy for upcoming ipython 0.11
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1797
I understand the need, but how quickly can this be fixed? From what I
understand from that thread, there's a lot to be done:
- Rewrite isympy so that it works with IPython 0.11
- Make sure that it also works with IPython 0.10 (otherwise we will break
it for a lot more people than if we just didn't fix it)
- Decouple the tests from IPython
The last one was suggested by Brian in the mailing list
(https://groups.google.com/d/topic/sympy/msBkBtUss2c/discussion), but it
isn't clear what the dependence is.
Unless this can be fixed *very* soon (i.e., say have a patch ready by
tomorrow or the day after), then I vote to proceed with the release without
it. We can always release again once we have a fix and IPython 0.11 is
out, and I would like to release more often anyway. From that thread, I'd
say that fixing very soon is unlikely, since the necessary code isn't even
in the main IPython master dev branch yet.
