I wanted to mention the link in comment 19 worked for me. If this doesn't get fixed, there should at least be a prominent note somewhere warning 64 bit Windows users that they shouldn't bother with the Windows installer.
Incidentally, gmpy offers both a 32-bit and 64-bit installer. I'm sure many packages do both.
