To be clear, I think that there are better ways of structuring Matrices
overall. There has been a lot of discussion over the years on how best to
structure matrices. I don't want to repeat that discussion here unless
necessary. My goal is for this to be the temporary solution until the
one-true-solution comes along. I think that this solution requires very
little work and has a much higher likelihood of being accomplished.
