I guess we never agreed on a better name to change it to.
I'm not sure this needs to be blocked on the release. It was originally
blocked on 0.7.0 because that was a major release (see comment 12). But
that's already happened, and I don't see why it has to happen *now*.
For what it's worth, I think .func is fine.
