Comment #6 on issue 2892 by [email protected]: clean up the new releases
wiki page
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=2892
Sure, feel free to edit any wiki page, especially for typos and formatting.
Personally, I'd be fine with leaving it as one page, and just putting it in
a format with a table of contents (from what I remember, that's kind of
buggy in gollum, the wiki software, though). If you want to split into
parts, I woud go with three parts:
1. Pre-release items (testing various things to make sure they work)
2. How to make the actual release (the "Do the Actual Release" section on
the current page, and maybe also "Get List of Authors who Contributed to
the Release", "Release Notes", and "Other things")
3. Distribution. All the stuff after this relating to uploading tarballs
to various places and making packages for various things.
Even if we keep it on one page, we should probably make it all go under
those three subsections. Whenever I do a release, I use this page heavily,
so I'll probably end up doing all this myself at that point if it hasn't
been done yet.
