Good point. We might be able to fix that with issue 3613, though it would be messy.

Wouldn't it be the best to just make a separate NonCommutativeMul class, and make Symbol(commutative=False) just change the definition of __mul__ and __rmul__ (I guess the implementation will need to be a little more complicated than that, because you can have a commutative scalar part, but you get the idea: separate the classes)?
