Comment #1 on issue 3724 by [email protected]: simplify raises IndexError: list index out of range
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=3724

In the current master I get

from sympy.abc import *
f = (-2*a*b - 2*alpha*t - 2*beta*t*x + 2*gamma*t*z)/(2 + 2*t*sigma**2)
simplify(f)
(-a*b - alpha*t - beta*t*x + gamma*t*z)/(sigma**2*t + 1)

If you type the same code and get the error then make sure you have the latest version of sympy ( https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/Getting-the-bleeding-edge )
