Yeah, I must have been working off a branch that was made before that pull
request was merged.
Regarding disutils, sure, although ideally we will only be working with
release versions. distutils version doesn't seem to handle things like
0.7.2-git or 0.7.2.rc1, so it would be only marginally better.
