issue 3753 deals with functions. They would rendered as
\operatorname{Alpha}, for example. This is a symbol, the output of which
will actually not compile in latex (\Alpha is not a defined latex command,
although \alpha is). It may be possible to fix both in one shot, but they
are passing through different code paths and it is not obvious that a fix
to one would automatically fix the other.
Another example of something that produces invalid latex output
x = symbols('omicron')
latex(x)
\omicron
It's a contrived example, I agree, but I would expect the latex() command
to always return something that latex can actually compile, even if it
looks funny.
