New issue 3806 by [email protected]: Comments on content in sympy's main page!
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=3806

I'm new to the community and i hope i can help in the improvement.

I have went through the main page and I noticed that it can be improved (i.e. its design and content) if we resolve the following issues:

a. Duplicate Documentation's link one in toolbar and the other in quick links. b. It is not easy to find the cheat sheet. (there is no link in the main page) c. In quick links, there is a link named "source code". In the download, there is no sign of a link name "source code". I know both links point to the same page in gitHub, but it is kinda confusing d. On main page, the two links "source code" and "latest git version" point to the same place. I believe this is
            a duplication.
e. There are five different links in the main pages pointing to downloads. The links' names are Downloads, Google Code download, github.com/sympy/sympy, Downloads (source tarballs), Downloads (packages for
            distributions), Source code.
e. two links for isympy in the main page (one in tool bar and the other in quick links) f. it is not clear how can we get to "gamma.sympy.org". I found it accidentally while i was browsing through
           issues.
g. A detailed list of features is some how not helpful for a page visitor (from my point of view). If we could
turn it in a small paragraph it would be much better.
h. Links to other languages at the bottom of the main page can be easily missed. I think it should be some
            where in the top.
i. I think putting News box in the top of the More information box is better to catch users' eyes while they
            are browsing the main.
j. Maybe if we add quotes from real users about their experience and how sympy made their life easier, we can encourage more people to download and use sympy. For example, if a math teacher uses sympy's library to factor an equation he may say "sympy's equation's factor function save's a lot of my time and reduce human error". I believe users would be much happy to see their quotes on the main page.
        l. A link to a video tutorial would be great.

That was all. I hope they would be helpful!
