No, there is no "package index configuration". easy_install just crawls the
links and grabs the one that it thinks is the newest, regardless what I do
in PyPI.
This is essentially a duplicate of issue 3511. I didn't realize it would
mess up install_requires. That's good to know.
pip does the right thing. Is there any way for you to use that instead (I
don't know how all the distutils/setuptools/etc. works)?
