In my branch https://github.com/sympy/sympy/pull/2397, if you enable
debugging and do
from sympy import *
x, y, z = symbols('x y z')
init_printing(use_latex='png')
Integral(sqrt(1/x), x)
in Python 3, you will see
png printing: _preview_wrapper exception raised: TypeError("string argument
expected, got 'bytes'",)
It seems that IPython swallows exceptions, and just silently moves to the
next printer.
