I timed about 1.3 seconds with isympy -c ipython and about 0.58 seconds with isympy -c python. But just ipython takes 0.6 seconds (these were all timed by doing "time <command>" and pressing Ctrl-D while it was loading). I suppose the reason that isympy -c ipython > isympy -c python + ipython is the additional things that isympy does in IPython like setting up the printers and the history reporting.
