We try to make the str() display readable, but also friendly to
copy-and-paste (here we actually have a balance by printing the newlines;
we could have just printed it as "Matrix([[1, 2, 3], [4, 5, 6]])"). If you
want a display that focuses on readiblity only, you should use pprint(), or
work in an environment that supports LaTeX (see
http://docs.sympy.org/latest/tutorial/printing.html). You'll notice that
pprint() and latex() both display matrices much closer to what you might
expect.
