Another thing is that a lot of classes in numbers.py are using
@staticmethod for things like __abs__ and just returning the singelton
value of that class, rather than defining __abs__(self): return self, which
would do the right thing in a subclass.
We should also check that such classes work at all with subclasses (I'm not
sure if Singleton will do the right thing, but maybe it will).
