Neighbors,

I’ve been looking to play with SymPy to do some of my thesis work. I’ve
got a Windows system, and could not get any “pretty printing” to work
for me last time I tried it. I’m starting afresh, from fresh
installations of everything, and I’d like the list’s opinions on a few
things:

• What is the best version of Python to install––2.5, 2.6, or 3.0?
• Is there a Python interface that will allow the use of Unicode symbols
for pretty-printing?
• Do I need any other packages beyond plain Python? (E.g., readline or
ipython.)

Thanks,
—Joel Salomon
