Hi. The first thing you should do is look for an issue to fix. We require all applicants to submit at least one patch to SymPy which gets reviewed and pushed in. Here are some easy to fix issues that can get you started: http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/list?q=label:EasyToFix. Other than that, you should pick one of the projects (they all look good) and start thinking about how to implement it so you can write a proposal.
I have a question relating to the attached resume. You state that you participated in GSoC 2010. What did you do?
