Hello everyone. This is a reminder to the Google Summer of Code mentors and students that the program is coming to a close. The "suggested 'pencils down' date" is August 15 (a week from this Monday), and the "firm 'pencils down' date" is August 22 (two weeks from this Monday).
Therefore, you students should start finishing up your work. You should aim to get everything done by the suggested pencils down date, which will give you the extra week as leverage for things like unexpected bugs, code reviews, and final touches. You should aim to have a pull request open with the final bits of your work by the end of the period, if not to have it merged by then, though the latter may not happen due to limited reviewing manpower. Of course, you can still work on SymPy after the pencils down date, and I hope that you do. But at the very least, you should work to get your GSoC code merged. Once all the GSoC code is merged with master, I want to do another release. But even if you plan to stick around, I highly recommend that you try to finish things up before you start classes again, as your time to work on things will be severely limited then (indeed, as most of the core devs are students, you will notice that things slow down during the school year). This has been a very successful GSoC for SymPy, and I'm proud of the work that the students have done, so let's keep strong to the end. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
