Speaking of GSOC project patches, the patch

from last summer implements a solver for systems of 1st order ODEs. If
it has not
been included already, I am afraid I am at fault. It looks like I promised last
year to look at it and forgot. I don't know git that well. Can someone
tell me the status
of that patch?
