Yes, you show the point.

However, I think that if we had *fast* algorithms for the "big"
problems (Integration, Summation, Limits, Eqn-Solving, ...)
then we should not apply heuristics anymore.

But this is off-topic to the original question about
making a good proposal for step by step evaluation.
