@david: I knew about networkX library but was not aware about OpenOpt.
My main aim to introduce Graph Theory into Sympy was to give give the users 
total freedom to apply Sympy's functions seamlessly onto the results of 
graph theory and vice versa. Instead of the graph class used by NetworkX, 
I'd be implementing all the functions on the matrix of the graph itself, so 
that there is an option for further computation on the graph. This is 
possible in NetworkX using interlinked conversions, but is a tedious and 
time consuming task. Moreover, I thought that a user will be more 
comfortable if he finds all the math-related functions in the same 
library(isn't that the motive behind creating a library), instead of 
importing different libraries. That was the main motive behind adding Graph 
Theory module.
@brian: that is a brilliant idea, asking for GSoC under networkX. But due 
to familiarity with Sympy, I thought of asking here first. Moreover, 
NetworkX is integrated into Sage, which is another organisation already 
participating in GSoC. So  can try there too.
@aaron: Please get back if there is some thought of integrating graph 
theory into sympy in the future. Moreover, I completely Agree with you on 
my inappropiate thought of adding a numerical solver like that of 
optimization into a symbolic solver library.

Anyways, I'll start working on the improvement of your matrix module and 
prepare a proposal for that.
