Discussions about any gsoc projects might work better on the mailing list as more people view them that way, so for the moment do not worry, just talking to us here is good enough.
As far as I know, the most promising way to continue work on the integration module in sympy would be to continue where Aaron left in his GSoC project, and in this case, the reference mentioned in the wiki is probably the best. However, be aware that this project is quite hard, requiring a very good level of math knowledge.
